Inventory Controller

Job Description

The Inventory Controller owns the truth about what we hold, where it sits and what it is worth. Based at our Austin facility on night shift, this role runs cycle counts, investigates variances and keeps system stock and physical stock in agreement — so that sales can promise, planners can plan and finance can close the month without surprises.

Job responsibilities

• Run the rolling cycle-count calendar across every rack and bulk area.
• Investigate each variance to root cause before any adjustment is posted.
• Keep location, lot and batch integrity accurate in the WMS at all times.
• Reconcile system stock to physical stock ahead of every month-end close.
• Own inventory adjustments with a documented approval trail per write-off.
• Maintain bonded and duty-suspended stock records to audit standard.
• Flag ageing, slow-moving and damaged stock for disposition decisions.
• Recommend slotting and min-max changes that cut touches and shrinkage.

Inventory accuracy is not a reporting exercise; it is the foundation every downstream commitment rests on. This role is measured on how rarely anyone downstream has to ask whether the number can be trusted.

Qualification

• 3+ years in inventory control, stock accounting or warehouse administration.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and confidence with WMS or ERP inventory modules.
• Understanding of bonded and duty-suspended stock treatment is a strong advantage.
• Investigative mindset — comfortable chasing a discrepancy through paperwork and pallets alike.
• Available for night-shift working and month-end close cycles.

• Support customs and audit queries with clean, retrievable stock records.
• Recommend slotting and min-max changes that reduce touch counts and ageing.
