Packaging & Processing Lead

One landed cost up front — duty, handling, final mile. If a surcharge appears, it's ours to absorb.

SEC / 01 Overview

Job Description

This Packaging & Processing Lead position sits on the inbound and retail-processing side of our New York operation. Where the export floor protects cargo for a voyage, this role prepares received goods for onward retail and e-commerce channels — kitting, relabelling, quality inspection and repack — and leads the team that turns bulk receipts into retail-ready units.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead inbound processing: inspection, sortation, kitting and repack.
  • Own retail compliance — barcodes, price tickets, country-of-origin and safety labelling.
  • Build and maintain standard work instructions for every client programme.
  • Manage line balancing and staffing to hit daily throughput targets.
  • Run quality gates and hold anything that fails client specification.
  • Coordinate with inventory control on receipt discrepancies and disposition.
  • Track labour cost per unit and drive it down without loss of quality.
  • Onboard new client programmes from first pilot run to steady state.

Retail chargebacks come from small, repeatable mistakes. This role exists to make the correct method the easiest one to follow.

Qualification

  • 5+ years in value-added services, co-packing or retail processing, including team leadership.
  • Familiar with major retailer routing guides and labelling requirements.
  • Comfortable designing a line layout and timing a standard work cycle.
  • Strong quality discipline and willingness to stop a line when specification is not met.
  • Experience onboarding new client programmes is a strong advantage.

Duties

  • Deliver daily processed-unit targets against the client service level agreement.
  • Maintain documented standard work and revision control for each programme.
  • Own quality escapes end to end, including client communication.
  • Report labour productivity and cost per unit weekly.
  • Develop the team through cross-training and clear progression standards.

Conclusion

Processing work rewards people who care about the hundredth unit as much as the first. If that sounds like you rather than a burden, we would like to meet you.
