Job Description

The Transportation Coordinator is a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain industry. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods from suppliers to customers, ensuring that shipments are timely, cost-effective, and meet all necessary regulations. Transportation Coordinators play a key role in optimizing transportation routes and ensuring the smooth flow of products through the supply chain.

Job responsibilities

  • Plan and book daily line-haul and final-mile movements across assigned lanes.
  • Select carriers on cost, transit time and service history rather than habit.
  • Raise and check bills of lading, delivery notes and export documentation.
  • Track shipments leg by leg and flag delays before the customer notices them.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices against quoted rates and query every discrepancy.
  • Keep customers updated with milestones, not excuses, when a plan changes.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records in the tracking platform each shift.
  • Support the network desk on rebookings whenever a connection is missed.

The Transportation Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods through the supply chain. They are responsible for managing logistics, maintaining customer satisfaction, and optimizing transportation costs, making this role indispensable in the world of logistics and supply chain management.

Qualification

  • Must be familiar with military standards and regulations governing logistics policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the DoD systems acquisition process will be required in order to successfully adhere to doctrine and operations concepts.
  • Expertise is required in expediting hardware through the repair process to reach end users in worldwide locations.
  • Shall have familiarity with stock listing, disposal, and re- procurement processes and guidelines. Expertise in requirements computations and the use of AFLCMC/HNC CLASS is required.
  • 5 years min exp.

Duties

  • Provide logistics support for life-cycle sustainment for fielded systems used in support of TAP mission systems and equipment.
  • Duties will also include performing tasks associated with supply, procurement, sparing, logistics planning and item management.
  • Shall process field requests, repair actions and shipments within the appropriate required time frames.
  • In addition to deliverable reports, support personnel are required to input data to Government produced reports, data systems, and briefings.
